NEC Enterprise Communication Technologies, Inc. (“NECECT”) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of NEC Corporation.  The company develops and supports a wide range of solutions, including Unified Communications, Software-defined networking, Video Analytics and IoT.

NEC ECT is currently seeking a Systems Solutions Architect to become a member of the Platform Solutions Integration team. This is a customer facing role and the candidate is expected to be highly technical, comfortable working with customers and required to travel at short notice to meet the project requirements. The Solutions Architect will be responsible for providing pre-sales to post-sales support for biometric solutions based off facial recognition technology. The Systems Architect will design, integrate, test and certify the biometric solution during the system integration phase, provide pre-sales support during the launch phase and post-sales support during the PoC (proof-of-concept) and production phase. Effectively communicates at multiple levels across functions within Customers (including partners and their immediate customers) business and engineering units, and NEC internal business and engineering units. Provide mentoring and coaching to new Solution and System Engineers (SEs) and as time permits create whitepapers/training materials/tech notes for the SE sales force.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities -

●Architect, engineer and design solutions involving applications, distributed infrastructures, virtualization and networking technologies. Provides services including but not limited to initial assessments, capacity planning, creating reference architectures, prototyping, engineering, virtualization planning and infrastructure design utilizing associated tools. 

●Architect, Design, develop, integrate, test, certify, deploy and support the NEC IT solution products such as biometrics, services and technologies

●Provides expertise to account teams, assisting in building solutions to address specific customer needs. In this position, the individual works to position NEC products, NEC partner products and other NEC services and solutions effectively against competing offerings. 

●Identify, establish and support business-to-business relationships with partners to establish interoperability, integration and joint solutions. Provides services such as evaluating product roadmaps, product requirements gathering, prototyping, engineering, interoperability evaluation, joint value propositions and marketing materials.

●Effectively communicates at multiple levels across functions within Customers (including partners and their immediate customers) business and engineering units, and NEC internal business and engineering units. 

●Provide mentoring and coaching to new Solution and System Engineers (SEs) and as time permits create whitepapers/training materials/tech notes for the SE sales force.

●Work with customers, channel partners, sales team and internal stakeholders to gather and publish comprehensive technical requirements

●Design, setup and manage test environment for solution validation and certification

●Create and execute test cases based of the technical requirements and certify the solution

●Create and deliver technical training to internal and external audience

●Support the sales and marketing teams during trade events and conferences

●Perform site surveys and publish reports with recommendation for deploying biometric solutions

●Work with channel partners and customers to develop PoC use cases, set acceptance criteria and support during deployment from start to finish

●Provide technical support for post PoC and production environments

●Prioritize and manage multiple PoC projects and work in complex matrix environment

●Additional duties,  project and tasks will be assigned by the upper management.

●Nurture and extended a team of specialists, providing consultative support and mentoring for Systems Engineers in assigned major account opportunities and territories.

Prerequisites -

Education: Typically requires BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum 10 years of design, integrate, test, certify, deploy and support biometrics solution or security and video surveillance, analytics or access control solutions

5+ years experience in Cloud Computing, Software Engineering and Networking.  Experience with enterprise technology architectures and business applications. Partner/NEC product/solution exposure desirable. • Five plus years of setting up and managing Windows and Linux system and application.

Exceptionally strong in networking and ability to do advanced troubleshooting

Proven experience in testing and certification of biometrics or video surveillance and/or access control systems

Three plus years of experience in deploying biometrics or video surveillance and/or access control systems

Three plus years of experience working in pre-sales role

Experience in preparing and delivering training for internal and external audience

Exceptional communication and personal skills, both written and verbal

Five plus years of working experience in a customer facing role

Ability to travel 50% to 75% of the time domestic or international

Experience in any of the following areas is a strong plus:

Facial recognition and experience with surveillance cameras preferred

Project Management experience preferred

Experience in working in a systems or solutions architect role preferred.

Certifications, Licenses, etc: CCIE certification preferred

Specialized Knowledge and Skills -

Language Skills: Excellent English written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation and presentation skills.

Mathematical Skills: Basic Math

Reasoning Skills: Ability to work effectively, add value as a team member and assume a leadership role with ability to train and disseminate information to other SEs as an extended virtual team.

The ability to display strength working closely with Vendor BU Development Engineering, Product Managers, and Technical Support organizations is a key element of this position. In-depth industry knowledge in the appropriate market segment(s) and in-depth technical knowledge in at least one area of specialization/solution. 

Ability to work effectively, collaboratively, and add value & leadership as a team member for the team. Demonstrated technical knowledge and consultative skills. Ability to train and disseminate technical and competitive information within area of expertise.  Ability to understand complex technical and selling situations and the ability to solve the problem or solicit the required resources.

Computer and/or Technical Skills: Leading-edge technical knowledge and consultative skills above reproach, with in-depth industry knowledge in the appropriate market segment(s).

Technical knowledge including but not limited to software engineering, cloud computing, database, distributed system design, database technologies, operating systems, hardware architecture, protocols and application programming interfaces (APIs).
