Job Description

Systems Engineer - Sr.  Provides senior-level technical support for solution delivery including: analysis, design, evaluation, configuration, installation, documentation, testing, training, and general support across the functional areas of the solution offerings. Occasionally provides presales activities and proposal development support for the group.  Acts as a customer technical advocate insuring timely responses to customer requests, issues, and concerns as it relates to project activities, sales, proposals, and/or marketing support.  As a senior level team member integrates research, development, technical skills and sales techniques to successfully introduce new products and services or to revise existing product lines or services to customers.  Understands and masters the features and benefits of our primary products and customer requirements. Provides installation and post installation support of NEC Corporation of America, (products) at customer locations throughout North America.  This position is responsible for customer site(s) system hardware and software support.  As such, he/she will not only provide hands on technical assistance but also remote support to all users of Biometric products.  He/She is capable of diagnosing and correcting difficult and intermittent hardware and software malfunctions arising from design deficiencies, data errors, component failures, and environmental issues. This requires a high degree of diagnostic ability and complete understanding of mainstream Windows Server and Desktop operating systems, as well as Biometric applications.  A background in IBM platforms, IBM Power Series 7 hardware and AIX is a big plus.  Linux experience is also required for this position.
