Job Description

Job Title:                              Sr Manager- Software Development

Summary

Executes multiple projects concurrently while using hands on management skills and system integration background.  Interacts with customers, gathers requirements, and works closely with cross functional teams to introduct new products.  Will address all operational activities like hiring, skill/expertise management, scheduling and process management.  Industry-specific knowledge and experience in Biometric products such as Automated Fingerprint or Identification System (AFIS, ABIS, MBIS), Livescan System, Facial Recognition System is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

__%  Manage software engineering teams and on time delivery of biometrics products

__%  Deliver biometric products using agile development processes, schedule/project management and experience working with cross functional teams

__%  Interface with key project stakeholders like management, cross functional team leadership, offshore and onsite teams, project delivery team, support team, customers and project managers

__%  Position will face internal and external customers, understand requirements, perform demonstrations, participate in pre-sales and post-sales support.

Prerequisites

Education:                        

Bachelors degree in compuer science, software engineering, eletrical engineering or related engineering major is required

Masters degree or equivalent experience is preferred

Experience:

10 to 15+ years of experience in successive career progress in software development and development team management is required. 

Hands on experience managing software engineers and on time delivery of products and solutions. 

Experience in agile development processes, schedule/project management and experience working with cross functional teams to deliver projects is mandatory.

Interface with key project stakeholders like management, cross functional team leadership, offshore and onsite teams, project delivery team, support team, customers and project managers is required. 

Ability to face customers, understand requirements, perform demonstrations, participate in pre-sales and post-sales support is required

Knowledge of biometrics-based identification, investigation and intelligence solution preferred.

Strong leadership, interpersonal and communications skills required

Reasoning Skills:

Computer and/or Technical Skills:

Technical expertise in Java/J2EE, .NET, C++,C#, Jboss, JBPM, Apache, Oracle, MS SQL, and related technologies is important. Familiarity with TFS, Subversion, Jenkin, Maven, ANT or similar tools is a plus

Travel:      Up to 25% travel may be required to meet customers

Supervisory Responsibility, if any:

 

This position has supervisory responsibility.
