Summary -

We are currently looking for an experienced Sr Solutions Engineer/Architect who will work closely with NEC sales executives and development teams, interact with prospective and existing customers, identify opportunities, understand customer requirements and goals, educate them on NEC solutions and work with NEC teams to propose and deliver products and customized solutions. This position is critical to the success of our organization to provide efficient and cost effective products & solutions that provide value to our customers. This position is expected to architect, design, and promote solutions using NEC cutting edge biometrics-enabled identification, investigation, and monitoring technologies to provide world-class customer expeirence in theme parks, stadiums, cinemas, and other similar settings and at the same time improve safty and security to the public. It is crucial for the position to have sales-oriented ability and skills to generate revenue by developing and maintaining customer relationships with articulated and trusted NEC's capabilities and value propositions.

Effectively communicates at multiple levels across functions within customers and internal cross functional teams. Provides mentoring and coaching to new Solution Engineers. Create whitepapers/training materials/tech documentation for the Solution Engineering team.

This role will be 'NEC's face to the customer' working in a fast-paced, high-impact environment as a visible contributor delivering on our prouducts & solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities -

__% Provide specific solution/technology/product consulting, technical and expert sales support for major account opportunities. (I.e. technical consulting, upper level management presentations on biometrics products & solutions) while allowing account executive team to maintain long-term ownership.

__% Use expert knowledge to understand customer business requirements, translate them into technical requirements and map these to NEC’s differentiated value propositions.

__% Propose architecture and design of solutions by working closely with product & solution development teams.

__% Understand various NEC biomerics products & solutions as well as Enterprise Technology, Architectures, and Services. Create, articulate, document and present technical solutions.

__% Perform in-depth and high-level technical presentations to customers and their stakeholders. Run hands-on demos and proof of concepts with in-depth competitive positioning.

__% Facilitate communications and understanding of priority requirements between customers, cross functional teams, account executives, and key influencers.

__% Lead and faciliate design workshops and consultancy services to customers

__% Nurture an extended virtual team of specialists, providing consultative support and mentoring for less experienced Solution Engineers in assigned major account opportunities and territories.

__% Set and manage appropriate customer expectations throughout the Opportunity Lifecycle.

__% Mastery of processes and tools for:

         * Proposal development

         * Solution Architecture Overview

         * Statement of Work development.

Prerequisites -


Minimum BS in EE/CS or equivalent. Advanced degrees are preferred.


  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in solutions architecture/engineering.
  • Ability to develop, write and defend business case analysis for solutions not part of current product offers
  • Effective presentation skills at all levels – ideally proven C level presentation expertise
  • Industry-specific knowledge and experience in public safety solutions, video surveillance, video analytics, real-time facial identification solutions, biometrics solutions, IoT and federated solutions is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communications skills required
  • Prior experience in tier-one system integration companies a plus
  • Experience in a high-technology market a plus

Specialized Knowledge and Skills -

Language Skills:

Excellent English written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation and presentation skills.

Ability to work effectively, add value as a team member and assume a leadership role with ability to train and disseminate information to other Solution Engineers as an extended virtual team.

The ability to display strength working closely with Account Executives, Product & Solution Development, System Architects, Technical Support, and other functional teams is a key element of this position. In-depth industry knowledge in the appropriate market segment(s) and in-depth technical knowledge in at least one area of specialization/solution.

Ability to work effectively, collaboratively, and add value & leadership as a team member for the team. Demonstrated technical knowledge and consultative skills. Ability to train and disseminate technical and competitive information within area of expertise.  Ability to understand complex technical and selling situations and the ability to solve the problem or solicit the required resources.

Computer and/or Technical Skills:

Leading-edge technical knowledge and consultative skills above reproach, with in-depth industry knowledge in the appropriate market segment(s).
