NEC Enterprise Communication Technologies, Inc. (“NECECT”) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of NEC.  The company develops and supports a wide range of solutions, including Unified Communications, Software-defined networking, Video Analytics and IoT.

We are currently in pursuance of a Sales Engineer to join our passionate and dedicated sales team.  This position will be remote and will be supporting our Sales Department business unit selling in the North US region.

In this role you will be the Technical leader supporting the Sales team in new business opportunities.  You may focus on pre-sales and/or post sales activities. You will be expected to communicate the value of NEC IT solutions to technical staff and executives. Activities will include involvement with technical sales strategy, proposal preparations, information gathering, presentations, demonstrations, solutions architecture and development, and product evaluations. You are required specialized depth and or breadth of expertise in area of responsibility. You’ll work independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations. 

 What will be expected of you in your role:

  • Work with prospects and customers in conjunction with the sales team and partner resources. You’ll explain difficult concepts and influences others to adopt a different point of view. Will need to anticipate customer needs; assess requirements and identify solutions. Make decisions guided by policies in nonstandard situations
  • Provide technical presentations on IT solutions and assist the sales team in closing sales. May be required to provide technical marketing demonstrations and presentations
  • Perform work as a consultant for sales and technical teams during implementation of field trial items or complex applications
  • Maintain thorough understanding of all solutions, products and applications in the area of responsibility. Lead functional teams and/or projects
  • Leverage feedback into enhanced solutions that meet the needs of our customers.  You may foster partnerships with NEC sales and technical teams to ensure complete solutions are developed for our customers
  • Lead the development of technical account strategies for long term growth and success.



  • BS Degree or relevant industry experience. Technical School with the appropriate amount of experience will be considered.


  • 5+ years of industry experience
  • Expert level with Unified Communications administration and implementation
  • Data Network knowledge required
  • Server/Storage Hardware administration and configuration a plus
  • Knowledge in video surveillance/biometrics a plus
  • Excellent customer relation skills
  • Exceptional communication skills required
