Product Manager- Facial Recognition Products and Solutions

NEC is looking for experienced product manager with product management skills in government, transportation, retail, or enterprise solutions market. Promotion of facial recognition for government applications, immigration and for friction-less user experience applications in transportation, parks, stadiums, airports, hotels and more are all within scope of this position. With progress in facial recognition technologies, NEC is planning to create friction-less “Experience” for consumers, and you will work with NEC team to create new product and solution portfolios.

The candidate will promote products and solutions, which use real-time or stored digital media assets (e.g. surveillance videos), and NEC’s cutting edge biometrics enabled identification, investigation, and monitoring technologies to enhance public safety and user convenience.   As product manager, you will participate in developing product and solution roadmaps, determine gaps in existing product portfolio, and establish partnership/alliances to successfully promote NEC facial products and solutions. You will directly interact with customer, gather requirements, competitive intelligence, and assist us in developing go to market strategies. In this role, it is essential that you are able to apply industry-specific knowledge and experience to develop product-marketing strategy.

Ideal candidate would have experience in system’s integration and consulting companies and has knowledge in facial recognition technologies, IAM, airport/airlines, and user experience products and solutions.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist our sales and marketing department in developing promotion strategy on products and solutions
  • Evangelize PS&C solutions, network with partners/customers to promote these solutions
  • Work with customers, participate in conferences and trade exhibits to promote products/solutions and gather market intelligence
  • Work with other system integrators, partners and technology providers
  • Provide competitive intelligence
  • Assist with pricing and placement
  • Assist with go-to-market plan
  • Assist with sales and marketing – developing sales tools, brochures, marketing material and more


  • 5 to 10+ years of experience product management
  • Knowledge of facial recognition technology
  • Knowledge of biometrics based identification, investigation and intelligence solution preferred
  • Experience in private and public could implementations is also preferred
  • Experience in developing roadmaps based on market requirements
  • Experience in establishing partnerships and alliances with key organizations for a full product / solution roll out
  • Experience in bringing new solutions to market based on either market insight or voice of customer interviews
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communications skills required
  • Proven track record of breaking into new markets and developing strong and successful product roadmaps
  • Prior experience in tier-one system integration companies a plus
  • Experience user experience solutions, IAM, friction-less access, video analytics, video surveillance, and biometrics solutions a plus


  • Bachelor degree preferred


  • Position is in Los Angeles area
  • Some travel is required
