NEC-X has recetly established a new office Sanat Clara, CA and is looking to penetrate and develop business in North America using NEC’s new vector processor, SX-Aurora TSUBASA (Aurora), in AI processing such as Machine Learning and Big Data Analysis.  The mission of NEC X is to develop businesses, using a lot of IP invented in NEC’s research labs, quickly in Silicon Valley ecosystems.  We are challenging to make the best combination of startups and an established big corporation.

NEC has a very strong IP portfolio generated by 800 scientists NEC has globally. NEC has research centers in Japan, US, Germany, China, Singapore, Israel and India.

At NEC X, people will be challenged to create a large and completely new business utilizing those assets owned by NEC.

Summary

Performs administrative duties for executives.  Partners effectively to administration, legal and HR managers at NEC Corporation headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. Harmonize project activities of NEC X employees and provide project management support. Perform administrative tasks such as Board meeting support, compiling data for reports, calendar maintenance for upper executive level employees, preparing expense reports, preparing/editing executive presentations, making travel arrangements. Work is completed with minimal supervision and assignments may be completed without established procedures.  Typically provides guidance to other non- exempt employees.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities                                                                                           

  • Responsible for performing tactical and strategic administrative support tasks for employees of NEC X
  • Partner effectively to administration, legal and HR managers at NEC Corporation headquarters in Tokyo, Japan
  • Coordinate the administrative work within NEC X working with other departments of NECAM (NEC America)
  • Harmonize project activities of NEC X employees and provide project management support
  • Provide support for Board meeting activities
  • Perform various tasks in administrative support at the upper executive level
  • These tasks may include, but are not limited to, key records maintenance, compiling data for reports, administrative tasks associated with the budget process, calendar maintenance for upper executive level employees, preparing expense reports, preparing/editing executive presentations, making travel arrangements and other established general administrative requirements of the organization
  • Keep the NEC X website up to date

Prerequisites

Education:

  • High school education or equivalent; some college level education highly preferred.

Experience:

  • 7+ years of general administrative experience, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Senior/advanced general administrative skills/ knowledge.
  • Usually works with multiple issues/projects and has the experience/ability to support multiple employees' administrative needs.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Computer and/or Technical Skills: Specific advanced software skills as required, mainly in Office software suite.
