Title: Regional Sales Mgr.- Channel - Northeast Region (Home based role)

NEC is seeking a dynamic Channel Sales Manager to lead sales of e-band microwave solutions  through ISPs, Tier 2 service providers,  and  partners (VARs, SIs, and Distributors) including recruitment, contract execution, partner enablement, and go-to-market initiatives with NEC’s Channel Partners (both existing and new) that will result in incremental revenue streams. NEC HQ is in Irving, TX and the Customer Service facility is in Manassas, VA.  Sales manager must be based on the east coast with proximity to a major airport.

The Channel Sales Manager evangelizes NEC’s products, drives new sales, and develops joint marketing initiatives with partners. S/he is also expected to develop highly productive reseller partner relationships so that partners become self-sufficient in marketing and selling our products.

In this home based role, you will work in close collaboration with sales management, sales engineering, and operations team to deliver high impact business results. This individual will therefore have a significant opportunity to impact the growth, direction and future of NEC’s business with a specific emphasis on driving go-to-market execution and reseller sales that are measurable.

This will be a quota position with a 50%/50% base/commission split

What you can expect in your role:

  • Identify and sell direct to customers in the e-band market on the east coast.
  • Identify and recruit new reseller partners in key markets through market analysis and cross-leveraging NEC’s wireless portfolio.
  • Manage sales opportunities with all designated Partners, providing accurate and updated sales funnel with current status.
  • Build and maintain monthly business plans for top accounts.
  • Development of territory plan, including documenting recruiting strategy.
  • Assist Partners in broadening their product expertise and sales opportunities, striving for growth from all associated selling resources.
  • Provide timely and on-going deal support to help close new opportunities at identified resellers including pricing requests, resource coordination, and other partner management activities.
  • Provide overall relationship management and act as the central point of contact for e-band customers and channel resellers and distributors within region.
  • Work closely with National Sales Director, Regional Sales Managers, Sales Engineers, NEC product marketing.
  • Be a key contributor to help define and scale the optimal channel partner program. 
  • Meet a sales quota

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's Degree required. MBA a plus.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Channel Sales field experience (Reseller, VARs, Distributors or other).
  • Recent experience in e-band microwave sales is mandatory including knowledge of 2-tier (distribution) reseller models.
  • Must be located on the East Coast.
  • The ability to quickly build relationships and garner attention in person and on the phone.
  • Knowledge of the microwave industry and recent experience with selling into ISPs and Tier2 service providers experience is a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge with tools like Salesforce & MS office.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Self-motivator and energetic personality.
  • Must be comfortable with working independently, managing ambiguity, and able to work cross-functionally.
  • Travel to customers, channel partner sites, and events as required.
