Summary -

Drives development and implementation of corporate policy through strategic partnerships with government and industry groups aligning with business objectives.

Must be experienced with the entire budget and appropriations process.

Company’s contact for legislative and public policy matters primarily dealing with biometrics and security. Serves as company liaison to and fosters relationships with key members of government and industry groups to promote company interests. Prepares policy briefings, testimony for pending legislative actions and provides thought leadership and recommendations. Ensures appropriate company participation in government forums and industry group meetings. Works with policymakers, leaders of government and industry councils and lobbyists to influence public policy, monitor government initiatives and advocate for specific plans to advance the company’s objectives. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities –

  • In consultation with the company businesses, global functions, and Government Relations leadership, set and manage country level public policy advocacy priorities.
  • Act as liaison with the US government on issues relevant to the company.
  • Help design and lead strategy to influence the legislative process and to educate decision makers on issues and business strategies important to the company.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on legislation and the impact on the company and our products.
  • Serve in leadership roles on coalition committees that represent a wide range of businesses and industries in order to impact policy goals.
  • Seek out opportunities for the company to engage government officials and raise the company’s positive profile as a public policy thought leader as well as a trusted technology solutions partner.
  • Actively coordinate global Government Relations team to influence the process in support of all priority agreements and policy to achieve business objectives.
  • Communicate and advise business leadership at all levels of the business on legislative impact and advocacy and possible strategies that are important to the company.
  • Work with cross-functional team of attorneys, business leaders, customers, and other government relations team members to develop creative solutions that incorporate government relations into business problem solving.
  • Coordinate strategy with our consultants and trade association representatives to ensure active engagement on areas of interest to the company and that all are aligned in support of our business strategies.
  • Create and execute opportunities for the company's senior leaders to interact with key governmental officials.
  • Manage additional issues and processes for the company business unit(s), products, and/or companywide issues as assigned.
  • Identify and create new ways for the company to advocate effectively.

Prerequisites -


Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.

Preference for applicants holding degrees in Political Science, Public Administration, Business Administration, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or other applicable field of study.


10-15 years related experience in the field of government relations/public affairs and/or Congressional Committees
